World snake day is celebrate every year on 16 July to raise awareness about different type of snakes. There are many strangest snakes in the world. Snakes have very bad reputation as many myths are associate with them.There are over 3500 species of snakes in the world but only 600 of them are venomous.

  1. Malagasy Leaf nosed snake

These snakes are found on the island of Madagascar only. This means that this type of snakes are not available anywhere apart from Madagascar. They get this name because of their leaf shaped snout. In females, these snout are Jagged; but in males it is long and tapered noses.

This type of snakes can transform themselves into living parachutes means these fly from one tree to another tree by using the speed of free fall and contortion of their bodies to catch the air and generate the lift. This type of snakes are found in south east Asia.

They look very dangerous because no reptileĀ  actually grows hair but this African viper have scales which give a dragon look to this snake. This is a venomous speciesĀ of snake reside in CentralĀ Africa.

This type of snakes are non venomous snakes. These are the the largest snakes which is found in southeast Asia and southern China. They are also known as sunbeam snakes. Strong sunlight hits on there black scales it looks like rainbow glossy scales.

  1. Iridescent Shieldtail

This type of snakes are available in mountains of India. They might be the most colourful snake. Their back and and belly are separate by yellow colour strip.
