Every year on 14 June, World Donor Day is celebrated globally to raise awareness about blood donation. According to a study there are many deaths occurs in world due to lack of blood. India has the largest shortage of blood in the world and shortfall is 41 million units with compare to requirement of more then 400% ; according to article of indiatoday.
Today on special World Blood Donor Day; we meet the real hero Mr. Nitin Pursnani doing heroic job in blood donation. Nitin Pursnani basically belongs from Mumbai and relocated to Bhilwara(Rajasthan) in 1989.
Mr. Nitin have Facebook group “Bhilwara Market” in which with his friend they started blood donating in 2017. The Trusted Post Talk with Mr. Nitin; On asking when did he started his own journey to blood donation, he says ” In 2016 his father got throat cancer and he required blood many time; In that time he realize that it is very big problem in India to get blood on time, Specially for people come from rural areas.
In 2017 he got an idea to start a Facebook group where if anyone is need of blood they can post it and the people of group help them by donating blood. He says that idea behind that they believe to give blood on urgent needy rather then to organize a blood camp. Even through time to time they organize camp as per the requirement of blood bank.
He say; till the date approximately they have manage to provide 7000 units of bloods in needs with the Facebook group. Even in Covid-19 time, they arrange around 450 units of blood.
Mr. Nitin runs a mobile shop and he owns 2 outlets, one in Bhilwara & another in Udaipur. But he is doing this work of blood donation as public welfare. Not only this but also doing great work of feeding hungry people, arrange fund for needy hospitalized patients, distribute water tank or pots for cows or birds, Tree plantation are few works of them.
He also thanks to all his team; he thinks without them it is not possible to do these task.
