On Friday PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Asia’s largest solar power plant in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing. This power plant has a capacity to generate 750 MW unit of electricity and it is located in 1500 hectare area.
The Inauguration along with pm Narendra Modi is also attend by CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his cabinet ministers. The Rewa ultra mega solar power project is one of the largest single side power plant in the world. This project was developed by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited with collaboration of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Solar Energy Corporation of India.
In this project 138 crore rupees funded by central government. Also it is the first renewable energy project where supply is give to outside of the state. So it will supply 24% of his energy to Delhi metro train corporation and remaining 76% will be supply to state electricity board of Madhya Pradesh. This project will reduce 15 lakh tonne carbon dioxide emissions every year.
On Asia’s largest solar Power plant inauguration PM Modi said that today Rewa made history. Rewa is known for river mother Narmada and The white tiger. But now the Asia’s largest solar power project is also add in the list.
PM Modi also adds solar energy is need of 21st century. PM also urge businessman, startups to make solar panels in India in aatm nirbhar Bharat Yojana and to make India non import country of solar panels. Here is the video share by PM on his twitter handle-
